and carry out smart city programme in Bhubaneswar, Nabin Patnaik Govt. is going to evict 24 slums in different
regions of Bhubaneswar. Though the State Government has developed their
plan to hand over these lands located in prime locations of the city to the corporate
houses, but no effective step has been taken for permanent rehabilitation of
Slum-dwellers prior to eviction. The
eight-storeyed flats which are under
construction under Rajiv Awas Yojana
renamed as Pradhanmantri Awas
Yojana meant for allotment to Slum-dwellers has been rejected by slum people who have demanded land
patta rather than one-room house in the
