As per Motor Vehicle Act and OUP Act, the persons violating traffic Rules are
liable to be fined.

per Govt.’s home Department latest notification dated 27.8.2016, the Assistant
Sub-inspectors of police and Sub-Inspectors of police or attached to the
traffic police stations within the police commissionerate area or authorized by the Commissioner of police,
Bhubaneswar shall be
competent to compound offences
punishable under section 96 of the M.V.Act within the territorial jurisdiction of the
police commissionerate.
