Dear
friends
Earlier,
we had brought notice to the public about huge land illegally occupied
by many powerful people in
Bhubaneswar. But this
time , we have exposed how
the Govt. quarters are unauthorizedly occupied by retired Govt. officials in Bhubaneswar, while hundreds of Govt. officers and employees are
running from pillar to post to get a Govt. quarter.
On
8.8.20, RTI Application was filed to
the Department of General
Administration and PG , Govt. of Odisha seeking
information as follows.
i. Provide
list
of Govt. quarters
unauthorisedly occupied by the
retired officers, employees and present serving Govt. officers and employees
in Bhubaneswar and penal
house rent pending against
each of them .
On 17.11.20, the PIO , office of GA&PG (rent) has
provided the following information.
1.

employees have illegally
occupied Govt. quarters in Bhubaneswar.
2.
Since 2009, the retired Govt. employees have occupied
Govt. quarters.
3.
A sum of Rs.

due against the retired officials
occupying Govt. quarters.
4.
The Peons, clercks, Dairist,
Teachers, Assistant Executive Engineers, senior Grade Typists, desk
officers , Electricians , Chief
Engineer, Engineer-in-Chief, Rural Works, Drivers, Dafadar, Constable,
Havildar, Chowkidar, OAS officers Section Officers, Assistant Auditors,
Demonstrator , Recorders who have
got retired within the period of 2009 to 2020 have unauthorisedly occupied Govt. quarters for
years together causing huge revenue loss to state exchequer, even
after letter of cancellation has been served to them several times.
5.
The range of pending dues against
the retired officials starts from
Rs. 10,000.00 to Rs. 10,00,000.00.
6.
As per the
law, when the Govt. employees illegally
occupy Govt. quarters, the
Govt. will take legal action against
them and get the quarters
free from them by using the
police force. But astonishingly, the
Govt. has sat over the
file for years together just after
issuing the letter
of cancellation.
